The verdict, up front

The Pro Max experience for people who still want to use a phone one-handed.

The iPhone 16 Pro gives up nothing on cameras or chip versus the Max — the only real trade-off is battery capacity. For most buyers that is a fair exchange for a 6.3" body that fits a pocket properly.

What works
  • Identical cameras and chip to the Pro Max in a one-hand-friendly body.
  • Class-leading sustained performance from the A18 Pro.
  • Titanium build with IP68 — premium and durable.
  • Six-plus years of iOS updates.
What doesn't
  • Smaller 3,582 mAh battery — endurance trails the Max clearly.
  • ~27 W charging is slow for a 2024 flagship.
  • Only 8 GB RAM versus 12 GB Android rivals.
  • No periscope telephoto.
