The verdict, up front

The features budget phones usually delete.

M7 Pro 5G keeps an OIS Sony sensor, a real AMOLED, the headphone jack, microSD and an IR blaster — at $199. The Dimensity 7025 is the give-back. As a do-everything cheap phone that still takes a steady photo, it punches well above the price.

What works
  • OIS + Sony LYT-600 at $199 — rare this cheap.
  • AMOLED with 2,100-nit peak.
  • 45 W charging, jack, microSD, IR blaster all present.
  • Stereo Dolby Atmos.
What doesn't
  • Dimensity 7025 is modest for gaming.
  • 2 MP depth filler instead of ultrawide.
  • Two OS updates.
  • Wi-Fi 5 only.
